Lutterworth Events Community Group

The Lutterworth Events Community Group saw the entire community come out in the sun to enjoy the Lutterworth Summer Festival 2019. From stalls and food, to a DJ and talent showcase, the six hour festival really had it all.

Starting off the day, Natalie Rew spent some time on stage displaying the best dancing techniques to an eager audience who were very happy to get on their feet, before Patsy Croc took the stage to dance!

Scarlett Andrews, local singer who recently featured on ITV’s This Morning then took to the stage, where she performed songs from her recent debut album, as well as a new single launch.

Grace Parry was the next to take the stage. Hugely popular in Wales and on the very edge of breaking through as a mainstream artist, she performed her chart single at the Festival.

Josh Ashton, one of the Midland’s most aspiring musical Directors and Actors then performed two sets of contemporary musical hits, wowing the crowd with his take on songs from the Greatest Showman.

All whilst this continued, Lutterworth MOT Centre showed off the very best Classic Car Display, awarding trophies to a select few, including 1st place to a Ford Mustang, 2nd to a Mercury and 3rd to a Triumph Stag, all of which delighted the eager visitors taking a close look at 45 infamous cars.

And what would the festival have been without events such as a Cake Decorating Competition, John Smart’s Funfair, Ella’s Face Painting and Di’s Donkeys, all spread around the park.

Next it was time for the Talent Showcase, where 10 budding local artists took to the stage to sing their favourite songs and play acoustic instruments live on stage, selected during auditions held earlier in the year. Purdey Nurse, Tiana Skye, Sophia Rose and Belle impressed the audience, before Bruce, Lara, Damien and Phollies Choir showcased their talent in the second part of the showcase. All artists were then brought back on stage and awarded with gifts of appreciation by PWH Accountants and Palmers Garden Centres.

All of this was presented by the team at Cross Counties Radio, with DJ Dave Harris and Terry Wells introducing the Special Guests, before John Foreman and Jacob Stone presented the Talent Showcase.

But the stage wasn’t all that made the Festival what it was; 20 Arts Crafts and Gifts stalls, selling everything from Italian clothing to Handmade Vases, were joined by 14 Local Community, Charity and Business organisations such as RNLI and St John Ambulance. Finally a fantastic range of Food and Drinks meant that everyone had a great variety, from Thai to Crepes and Mexican street food!
